AMS 6427

SAE International: This specification covers an aircraft quality, low alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging stock.

These products have been used typically for parts requiring a combination of high tensile strength and good ductility with relatively high impact strength and hardness, but usage is not limited to such applications. Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment.

AMS 6411

SAE International: This specification covers a premium aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging stock. These products have been used typically for parts requiring high tensile strength and good ductility with relatively high impact strength, superior transverse properties, and hardness, but usage is not limited to these applications. Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment. ARP1110 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.

GE S1000

GE Aviation Specification: GE Aviation’s S-1000 approval is awarded to Certified Materials Test Laboratories for the testing of materials for GE Aviation with a requisite quality processes to meet GE Aviation’s rigorous standards for its products.

GE S400

GE Aerospace Specification: A documented process control testing program must be completed and performed as part of the Special Process Source approval and in conjunction with periodic audits. When testing involves a laboratory, the laboratory must be S-400. Certified Materials Test Laboratories (CMTL): Metallic Materials.

BMS 7-26 Type 1

AMS 2300

SAE International: This specification covers steel cleanliness requirements in inch/pound units for premium aircraft-quality ferromagnetic steels, including hardenable, corrosion-resistant steels, by magnetic particle inspection methods. This specification contains sampling, sample preparation, inspection procedures and cleanliness rating criteria.

SAE International: This specification covers a premium aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging stock.

Military Specification: This specification covers premium quality, multiple vacuum melted, low alloy steel bars, reforging stock, and mechanical tubing intended for use at tensile strength levels of 260,000 psi (1795 MPa) and above.
